In our group we discussed what the first shot of our opening title sequence should be we were initially thinking that it should be an abstract portrayal which will create a sense of enigma without giving to much away. After heavy discussion we came to the thought that the first shot should be with a young father sitting on the sofa with his son, this is so the audience will establish the relationship that the father son have and therefor understand the importance of what is about to happen. Moving on through that scene we thought that the father could be sitting in a public place such as a coffee shop or something along those lines when his phone rings then by darkening the setting it creates more of a chilling environment as the caller ID is unknown. to create more of an atmosphere titles will appear on screen saying 'When money is the measure of success' as it cuts to the next scene where the father is answering the phone another set of titles appear 'what lengths would you go to?'
this is to clearly signify a basis in which the film is trying to portray. further more, the scene then cuts to a shot of the man walking home at night where the words ' to give your son the best things in life', then the father will be seen opening a box of weapons and the last title will appear saying 'but another mans life is the cost'
We also agreed that the opening title sequence in the first few seconds should have a sense of a chilling thriller amount the audience with the inclusion of darkness and violence related imagery this is to really set the scene without giving to much to the storyline away. Whilst editing we thought that if we put a scene in pure black and white it would give an old school thriller film. Then trying to introduce the characters to the audience, we would have a long shot of the featured adult and his good friend, know as adult 2 for treatment purposes, the 2 friends would be engaging in a friendly handshake of hug so again the audience will establish the relationship between them. The father would then pull out details to show the friend about the target. Ontop of this chilling music will be playing to create suspense.
The producers and companies of whose are going to be featuring in in our film will then be shown on screen. The plot will generally be about showing the relationship between the father and his son. this would be conducted at a park where the son would be playing on swings with the father. Also the film will centre about the adult disposing his job. The use of flashbacks will also be sued to show how the two adults used to train as assassins whilst showing there relationship with eachother. Then as the caller hangs up the phone leaves the father and 'ultimatum' and time to think about what needs to be done.
Here are some brilliant ideas examples of an opening title sequence-
